From the Ten Commandments to the Ten Amendments

Today I was totally dumbfounded when I read that the Supreme Court has sanitized all mention of the Judeo-Christian roots of American law, ignoring six depictions of Moses holding the tablets of the Law. Tour guides have replaced the Ten Commandments with the Ten Amendments.

Contrary to the hysterical rants of those paranoid of "Christianist theocracy", those of us who defend our American heritage, including depictions of the Ten Commandments, are not seeking to stone adulterers and homosexuals or burn blasphemers and witches at the stake. You people make me laugh. NONE of that was EVER the case even BEFORE the systematic "book-burning" of American history commenced within the public education establishment.

We despise the agenda robbing us of our national memory in order to impose a worldview alien to that which birthed this nation's principles. A "bloodless revolution" has been waged against us, no less a "coup d'etat" but without bullets flying! Let those with eyes to see and ears to hear take note.

What we simply seek to preserve and defend is the America we HAD before it is finally hijacked into being completely something ELSE, instead of the ".....REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION, UNDER GOD".... "Democracy" isn't the foundation on which on America was built, it was built on the rule of law. "We the People" are subject to it as much as those whom we elect as our representatives. Therefore, the law must have a source rooted in reality outside of ourselves, or else it is subject to the transitory whims of power struggles and wars. What distinguished the American founding was that it rested on just such a foundation ... one based on "self evident truths", the Creator and the Laws of Nature's God. The fountainhead of Western civilization is the scriptures of the old and new testaments. All that flowed out of them is what gave rise to the ideas, debates, art, literature, law and science itself as human beings grappled to discover, apply and mature into them. Truths revealed by the God of the Bible were the source of the morality, values, ideals, freedom and faith that birthed the worldview that matured into what we know as America.

The "rule of law" as our founder fathers envisioned it, was the product of the work of men such as the Scottish Puritan Samuel Rutherford, in his great book "Lex Rex". , one of the greatest fruits the Protestant Reformation ever produced. And without the Reformation, there would be NO America as we know it!! Though we hear MUCH about the "deists" founding fathers such as Franklin and Jefferson, we NEVER hear of those who wielded even greater influence, such as John Witherspoon, Fisher Ames, John Adams, Benjamin Rush, etc. because that would expose how GREAT our heritage rests on Judeo Christian thinking through these men. Christians and Jews know that the God of the bible is the God of history, and it is as important to preserve our history for the sake of our faith, as it is for the sake of our nation!

Today, we face the same ideological struggles that the founders faced and over which they triumphed! They did not retreat into the coward's selfish cave of "private" piety and "personal choice". Instead they confronted the tyrants of their day, even in blood, when it became necessary to defend themselves. The enemy within knows that our history teaches everything this current generation of patriots needs to know in order to overcome them. That's why the destruction of our heritage and history is of paramount importance to them. To that end, they have devoted themselves to the "dumbing down" of Americans, by denying the teaching of true civic and religious history to America's schoolchildren. Now they lie at the very steps of the Supreme Court itself.

Lacking the knowledge of our heritage and all that is invested in it, an empty void has opened, one that is imploding in barbarian anarchy and will collapse eventually into some kind of totalitarian tyranny. History demonstrates this, as recently as Eastern Europe and the scourge of communism that enslaved them for half a century. Those ignorant of history are destined to repeat it. The old maxim "those who stand for nothing will fall for anything" demonstrates its truth daily. Communists masquerading as "progressives" (regardless of which party label they sport on any given day) are enslaving us in our own peculiar form of socialism. Meanwhile, all over the world, the Islamic hordes threaten to assault the Gates of Washington DC, while they march in across our borders without resistance greeted by those waving the flag of political correctness even as they burn the American flag. Together, they will destroy us.

Perhaps it is too late to do anything but preserve the memory of what once was, for the benefit of a future generation. Not this one. We live in a generation that is willfully ignorant, hateful and rebellious of ANY thoughts outside of their own imaginations. They call that "tolerance". Fair enough, let's "tolerate" it. When they reap what they have sowed, we will "tolerate" it when they suffer the consequences. Experience must be their teacher when words and history are rejected.
